SEMRA OCALMIS

Born and raised in Berlin, the ghanaian-turkish Photographer Semra Öcalmis creates work that speaks to her heritage, the intersections of culture and the communities around her. Illusive moments in which the subject lets go and reveal aspects of their interior persona reflect a prime focus of her practice. 

Grounding the subject in reality and places mixed with  playful creativity rooted in intimacy and authenticity are a consistent visual language in her work.
